Method

  1. 1

    Build the jar

Tip 50g rolled oats, 12g chia and a generous pinch of ground cinnamon into a 350ml jar or container. Coarsely grate 150g unpeeled apple straight in (the skin keeps fibre and colour), then pour over 185ml milk and spoon in 80g Greek yoghurt.

  2. 2

    Stir and chill

Stir hard for 20 seconds with a long spoon so the chia doesn't clump on the bottom and the cinnamon streaks through evenly. Lid on, into the fridge for at least 6 hours — overnight is better. The oats and chia drink the milk and set to a thick pudding.

  3. 3

    Wake it up

Give it one more stir to loosen — it'll be much thicker than last night. Too stiff? Splash in another tablespoon of cold milk. Eat straight from the jar; top with extra grated apple or a dusting more cinnamon if you want. Finish with a tiny pinch of sea salt to lift the sweetness.
